LIMPOPO- The Police joint operations which were up and running across the Province until this morning, have produced positive and meaningful results for arresting 1744 suspects aged between 20 and 53.

These suspects were arrested for various offences ranging from murder, attempted murder, robberies, rape, sexual offences, assault, burglaries, stock theft, illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, to possession of the protected endangered species(pangolin).

These operations were conducted in various ways including roadblocks, stop and searches, raiding of illegal bussinesses including liquor outlets, tracing of wanted suspects, comprised of operational members derived from different Police Units at all levels of command being, the Crime Prevention, Crime Intelligence, Public Order Police (POP), Stock Theft, Detectives, Highway Patrol Team and K9 Unit.

A variety of items were recovered during these operations, as follows : 13 x firearms, 02 x rifles, 26 ammunition, 03 x motor vehicles, 15 cell phones, cash amount of money, 208616 x sticks of illicit cigarettes , 40 x dangerous weapons, 18056 grams of dagga, 118 x dagga plants, 29 parkets of crystal myth drugs, 89 x packets of nyaope drugs, 37 knives,1086845 ml of liquor.

Furthermore, 3879 stop and searches were executed, notwithstanding, compliance inspections conducted at the liquor pemises x 2419, 80 x Roadblocks, 2481 x vehicle check points, 26 x shebeens closed, 1417 x motor vehicles searched and 29730 x people searched.

Lastly, two suspects aged between 28 and 39 were also arrested for possession of the protected endangered species(pangolin) in the Northam and Westenburg Policing areas. During the arrests, two pangolins were recovered.
