Mme Nkakareng Rakgoale react to yet another case of GBV in Phalaborwa, Limpopo.
A 43 years old man shot and killed his partner, aged 38 and his partner’s niece aged 27 and injured his 16 years old daughter. He then turned the gun on himself and committed a suicide.
MEC calls on men to stand up and end the killing and abusing of the vulnerable people of the society. “It is time for all of us to stand up and say enough is enough. We can’t continue to always talk about women and children attacked by men who are supposed to love and respect them. These senseless killing are not just statistics but human beings who also have the right to life. We simply won’t take it anymore. The behavior displayed by perpetrators of of GBV is barbaric”
She appointed Social Workers to start providing psycho-social support to the families, the survivors and affected people.
