Public urged to continue to use water responsibly.
Western Cape residents are urged to use water responsibly as the latest average dam level is at 35.7%, only 2% higher than at the same time last year.
The dams providing water to the City of Cape Town, are a combined, 53.2%.
This is 9% better than at the same time last year.
Provincial minister of Environmental Affairs Anton Bredell, says the department is being briefed by the South African Weather Services on a weekly basis to keep an eye on weather predictions.
He says the medium to long-term outlook remains largely unpredictable.
No rain is expected this week but a major cold front is expected next week which may lead to some significant rainfall over large parts of the province.
He has urged the public to continue to use water responsibly.
