The Limpopo Department of Health can confirm and also welcomes negative COVID-19 test results of the first patient to be taken into isolation in Limpopo. The patient who is from N’wamitwa area in Greater Tzaneen, was the first person to be taken into isolation in Limpopo after he travelled home after testing positive in Gauteng. Now he has finished his isolation period and he was retested where his results came out negative on Friday 3 April 2020. He has since been discharged from the isolation.
The department is happy to welcome back and re intergrate him back to the community and calls on all community members to fully welcome and support him since he has completed his isolation and his body has cleared off the virus.
The department intends to make him an ambassador for COVID-19 in the province particularly on the importance and the benefits of isolation after testing positive.
Furthermore, the department calls for calm and also requests all those that he came into contact with to remain in quarantine until they finish the 14 days prescribed period.
