Chiefs add City’s woes

Kaizer Chiefs beat Cape Town City 3-0

City’s struggles in the Absa Premiership continued after a 3-0 loss to the Soweto giants on Sunday afternoon at FNB Stadium.

All three of Chiefs’ goals came via headed efforts, and the Dutchman insists the opponents were full value for the victory.

“Not so difficult, football is about scoring goals and if they score three and we score zero, it’s good they deserve to win,” Riekerink said on SuperSport TV after the match.

“We started not good, I don’t know why, the composure, they were very motivated, they worked very hard. First five, to 15 minutes it was about the altitude or the weather, we were very tight and then we opened up.

“I think we got three very good opportunities, every game we play good we have great chances, today we did, so we have to go on but I have to make my team compliment for what we tried to achieve but in the end we get three high balls, the same balls as against AmaZulu and there were three goals,” he lamented.

“Now we have two home games, I know what we can do. By some faces in the game we really played good football, we had good solutions and I’m happy to be the coach of the guys because they work hard. I have 100 percent no question that, we have to finalise the game and not only play good football.

“I trust my team, I like the way they work, only today three high balls, three goals and we played better, but it’s not points so sometimes that’s also a way to win the game,” he added
