Thembi Kgatlana’s night of History

Banyana Banyana lethal striker Thembi Kgatlana made history last night in the CAF awards ceremony in Dakar, Senegal. Thembi was voted Caf goal of the year and CAF Women’s Player of the year for 2018.

Her name was no doubt in everyone’s mind as she is the most influential player in women football at the moment. To add to Thembi’s night of joy, her Coach in the national team Desiree Ellis was voted Caf Women Coach of the year.

Ellis shines after leading Banyana in the Caf Women Africa cup of Nations finals last year. Nigeria who defeated Banyana on penalties in the finals were voted CAF women team of the year.

Mauritania was voted Caf Men Team of the year. It was not gonna end without us knowing who is the Men Footballer of the year for 2018. Guess what? Mohamed Salah came on top of the list between him, Sadio Mane and Abumeyang.

Congratulations also to Ugandian and Mamelodi Sundowns goal minder Dennis Onyango for making the Africa eleven.
