The UAE and South-Africa meet to strengthen bilateral relations
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, chaired the second session of the joint committee of the UAE and the Republic of South Africa. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, who chairs the work of the Joint Commission between the UAE and South Africa, met with Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, Lindiwe Sisulu.
Minister Sisulu, welcomed His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the accompanying delegation, praising the development of bilateral relations between the UAE and South Africa and the continued fruitful cooperation between the two countries.
“The convening of this committee marks the centenary of the two great leaders, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the late President Nelson Mandela,” he said in a speech. “We are honoured to be present at many meetings between the two great leaders.
“We in the UAE have been keen to have the legacy of the two leaders as the basis on which we build the solid relations between our two countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1994,” he said.

Thereafter Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed conveyed to President Ramaphosa the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and their wishes for South Africa’s further progress and development.
